The proper technique includes positioning the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle with the gums. Then move it in short circles across the teeth. Patients also need to brush all surfaces of the tooth for a thorough clean.

Move the tip of the toothbrush to the inside portion of the teeth and clean with a light up and down stroke. People need to also remember to brush their tongues with a toothbrush or tongue scraper. Rinse with an anti-cavity, anti-microbial fluoride-infused mouth rinse before heading out for the day.
